RoastLog = two guys: Brian and Linsey. The story of how we got here is pretty interesting, but ultimately we are here because we love technology and coffee, so building a great piece of software for the coffee industry is a perfect choice for us.
Brian Zambrano, Engineering Nerd and Fearless Leader
Brian was bitten by the coffee bug during the summer of 2002 while on a three month rock climbing vacation in Grenoble, France. Over the next few years, the bug drove him into home roasting, coffee school, SCAA conventions, roasting classes and eventually roasting on a Diedrich IR7. In 2008, he realized the need for a professional logging system for coffee roasters. Since then he's been focusing on building the RoastLog team and product.
Brian is the driving force behind the company, moving the business forward and providing the engineering and programming skills that are the backbone of our applications. His background is in engineering and software development. When not working on RoastLog, you can probably find him rock climbing, cycling or at some nerdy software conference.
Brian lives in Alameda, CA with his lovely wife, their twin boys and cat, Captain.
Linsey Fan, Business Development, Marketing and Sales
Linsey drives company strategy, sales and marketing at RoastLog. He's believed in the potential of RoastLog from the start. After a brief hiatus, Linsey rejoined the team and never looked back.
Over the last 20 years, Linsey has served in management roles leading marketing, sales and service operations. Early in his career, Linsey worked closely with customers to identify solutions that would advance their science. These experiences shaped his perspectives around product usability and design while helping him establish a successful track record of introducing disruptive technologies.
For the majority of his career, Linsey contributed to the development of hardware, software and biological reagents used in genomics and life science research laboratories. Most recently, he is thoroughly enjoying the challenges and rewards presented constantly in a small start-up operation.
A California native, Linsey enjoys cycling the hills around the San Francisco Bay Area, exploring nature, spending time in the mountains and doing just about anything with his wife & children, especially if it's outdoors.
